In the book execution alex has escaped prison and was saved by the army. the Army put him on a metal table and rapped him in shipping wire so he could not move. they put him to the test by loweing him into a cage with a berserker and a soldier who had been turned into a rat. Unexpacted things happened.
the setting is at first in furnace penetentiary then moves to a city, after he is captured it takes place in a military base but alex is in the rooms where they used to lay out sick soldiers along with nearly 60 rats, and berserkers.
the conflict is between Alex and Alfred furnance, the man that he is trying to kill, the man that locke dhim away to do expieriments on him, the man who turned him into what he is.
Alex has changed as a boy, what once was a scared little boy is now a raging monster not scared of any task. He was yanked away from his family. He watched his only friend get shot in the head then he got blamed for it and put away in furnace.
