Wolf asked Sig while they sat in the cabin waiting for Anna to return how they got here in Alaska. Wolf had waited for the first ship to sail out once summer was starting. when he got to the drop off the passenger list showed that Einar and his children had never sailed on a boat the summer before. To get away from Wolf Einar knew he could not sail on the ship with is 2 kids. He bought 4 dogs and a sled and the were off. They traveled light, Only carrying little amounts of food with blankets and jackets. Wolf stopped Sig, "you mean to tell me that Einar took 2 small children hundreds of miles across the ice on a dog sled?" "yes" Sig replied. The thing wolf asked Sig was, "where is the gold your father stole from me?" Sig did not know what Wolf meant by this. What Wolf forgot to mention was Einar rented a room above the tavern and took Wolf there. He put the acid that they use to test gold in his whisky and knocked him out before he could force Einar to give him "half" the gold he had. Einar had no gold. At least that's what he told Wolf.
Once Anna showed up, Sig was sad to see that she was alone. Eventually Wolf tied Anna to a chair and took Sig to the spot where his father died to find the papers he brought from the office thinking they might show Wolf something.
In this book I have noticed that not a lot happens. There is just so much detail in it.
what did I think of this book? I though that it had some parts where it just drug on about the same thing but some parts where I couldn't put the book down. I would rate this book 3.5 on a scale of 5.
If you like drama this book isn't something you would like. The unique thing about this book is that it will leave on one topic and the next chapter will be about something totally different. Read it to find out what happens in the end.
Does Sig die?
Does Anna?
Will wolf ever leave them alone?
Did Einar ever have any gold?

3rd summer post
I have continued to read revolver by Marcus Sedgwick. I left my last post by telling you about Sigs farther being dead. That he fell threw the ice and froze to death before he could start a fire. He now lies on the table in the middle of the cabin in Alaska. This is a man who came to the cabin on a "giant white horse." His name... Wolf. He talks a lot about his journey, tracking down Einar (Sig's father). he followed them for ten years.
Wolf tells Sig many stories, but my favorite was how Einar got away. They were going to leave Nome, a place with short summers and long cold winters. Sig's father was the man that weighed all the miners gold and tested it for purity. One day when Einar was locking up the station a large man bumped into him. "Test my gold" he said. Einar apologized telling the man he would have to come back the next morning but the man shoved him hard against the wall, "you listen here, I wont have my cabin robbed wile I wait here to have my gold tested tomorrow. Test it now." Einar still refused but luckily a few of the guys from work were headed home from the bar and saw him. Wolf let him go. The next day wolf returned, but his gold was of only 10% purity. Wolf stayed in the shop all day. not moving other than to stretch. He watched as miners came in person after person with some very pure gold and some not worth anything.
Einar and his family planned to take the very last ship out of Nome off to America. The last day when Sig was out playing watching the ships sail in and out, Maria, the children's real mother told Anna to go get Sig so they could eat the last dinner they would ever eat in Nome. An hour later after she ran into her father and they found Sig the all walked back to the cabin. Anna walked in first and saw her mother on the floor in "an awfully still position. She watched as the brown floor changed to a dark red." Maria had been murdered.

revolver smmer post
In my first post about my book Revolver I finished by talking about Sig (the main character) and about how his dad is dead on the table frozen. This book goes back and forth from present time to past. It goes back to how Sig found his dad.
It was getting late on wash day when Sig's father was supposed to be home. Sig decided to go out and follow the trail to meet his father on his way home and ride the sled back with him. Sig noticed a black spot out on the ice of the frozen lake. He finished putting his ski's on and slowly walked across the ice checking the thickness with his stick. When he got to his frozen father he put together what had happened.
His father had gone across a thin section of ice and fell in waist deep. The sled dogs pulled him out and Sig saw that his father had taken his glove off. But why? Sig had seen the matches in is hand but no wood. Then he realized the sled was made of wood and the papers from the office he could have lit. The father (Einer) would have frozen before he made the mile ride home so he took the long shot chance at trying to start a fire but it did not work.
The most interesting thing I remember is that Einer when he was still alive told Sig that "a gun is not a weapon. It's an answer."
This is the first book I have read by Marcus Sedgwick and I think it will get more interesting as it goes.

Revolver by Marcus Sedgwick- 7/2/2014
For my summer blog post I chose a book called Revolver by Marcus Sedgwick. The main character in my book is a boy named Sig. Judging by the way to book is worded I would estimate him to be around 13 or 14 years old. He has an older sister and a step mother. His step mothers name is Nadya and he describes her only as being 25 years younger than his dad with dark hair. He also describes his sisters and his relationship as, "we were always to far apart in years to have any conflict with one another."
When Sig describes the place he lives in he says it is a, "24 foot by 12 foot". Before he goes outside Sig puts on a heavy fur jacket and hand made gloves. He says that inside the cabin the temperature is just above freezing but outside it is, "dozens below zero."
While Sig explaigns his life he talks about a day called, "wash day." Bathing once a week and washing clothes in the same water they bathe in. The two women bathe first then Sig and his father.
What I thought was weird about this book is right in the begining he talks about his father, dead on the table. After he tells the reader that his father died of hypothermia he goes back in time to how, and where he found his father dead. Now I will read to find out what he was dong when he died.

pg 150-162
I am continuing to read Execution by Alexander Gordon Smith. Alex made it back to his house and he already knew no one would be home. Every kid had been turned into a rat or a new berserker. Every adult has been killed because their body can not handle the nectar. Eventually Alex decides to let everyone sleep for a while considering Simon had already laid his head on the table and fallen asleep. Alex didn't even remember laying down before falling asleep. While Alex was dreaming he met the real Alfred Furnace, the man who took him away from his family. The man who made him the monster he is. The man who killed the old him and created a new Alex. During his dream Alfred is only a kid. His eyes are deep, dark, black pits. Alex looks around to see they are in a barn. Their is 2 men and a women who Alex describes as "Extremely Drunk." The adults are kicking a boy who could be no older than 16. Furnace walks over and the Adults try to run but their is nowhere to go. He puts a pin size hole in the boys wrist and his hand over the boys mouth. The nectar in Furnaces veins begins to run into the boys body. Just as it does with all its victums, the nectar began to cloud the boys thoughts and take over his system. The boy, not even a boy but a thing now was on its feet in seconds sprinting on all fours to the women and with in second she was on the ground blood running from her neck. Before the men could react the boy was shredding them apart. he walked back to furnace and funace looked back at Alex. Alex asked, "was he the first?" furnace looked at him and only said, "yes, the first of millions."
My prediction is that Alex will find Furnace just as planned. But will he kill him like he wants to? I dont thinks so. Hopefully soon I will find out.

Pg. 141-155
Alex has just escaped the military and found his friends. Its is now Alex, Zee, Simon, Lucy, and the other black suit. The black suit is driving the hummer they are all in and Alex is navigating. Something is telling Alex where to go and he doesn't know where it is coming from. He thinks it is Furnace talking to him through the nectar. The Berserkers are killing every rat that tries to attack the truck as they travel the road looking for a place to stay. When they finally arrive Alex realizes he has led the hummer directly to his old house back when he was a regular kid. Before he was made the monster he is now. They all eventually walk in and sit at the table and Lucy makes tea and they find a little food to eat.
Alex goes upstairs to his old room and sees: his room is cleaned, left the same, not messed with, the same posters still on the walls, drawers open as they were, but still clean. He sees the only picture he ever kept in his room and he looks closer at it. His family on a cruise, ice cream on dad's face, laughing, mom close by, little eleven year old Alex right between them. He begins to cry and gets an, ''awful pressure in my throat, like something huge was crawling up it." I like this quote because anyone who has ever cried can relate the "awful pressure" in their throat.
The good parts about this chapter is it is showing how Alex felt about this life before Furnace. The bad part is it is actually kind of sad and there has not been a sad part in the series yet, mostly just killling, anger, and regret.
My prediction is that Alex will find Alfred Furnace, but killing him like he wants to I'm not sure about that one.

Good things and bad things about my book, Execution
Good things I like about my book is it never gets boring. Something new that you never thought would happen, happens. To me this book is so interesting because the detail never dies down such as the line, "an island, waves crashing against its cliffs." I like this line because even though this book is more out of the ordinary because it includes things that would just never happens it still has those little glimpses of hope for the character, Alex.
The only real bad things I don't like about this book is that every chapter ends with a cliff hanger; if it doesn't it leaves you wondering what is going to happen next. You can almost never expect what is going to happen because this book is so off from other books. I would greatly recommend the author of this book Alexander Gordon Smith, because he does terrific detail in all the books i have read in this series.
