For my summer blog post I chose a book called Revolver by Marcus Sedgwick. The main character in my book is a boy named Sig. Judging by the way to book is worded I would estimate him to be around 13 or 14 years old. He has an older sister and a step mother. His step mothers name is Nadya and he describes her only as being 25 years younger than his dad with dark hair. He also describes his sisters and his relationship as, "we were always to far apart in years to have any conflict with one another."
When Sig describes the place he lives in he says it is a, "24 foot by 12 foot". Before he goes outside Sig puts on a heavy fur jacket and hand made gloves. He says that inside the cabin the temperature is just above freezing but outside it is, "dozens below zero."
While Sig explaigns his life he talks about a day called, "wash day." Bathing once a week and washing clothes in the same water they bathe in. The two women bathe first then Sig and his father.
What I thought was weird about this book is right in the begining he talks about his father, dead on the table. After he tells the reader that his father died of hypothermia he goes back in time to how, and where he found his father dead. Now I will read to find out what he was dong when he died.
